2026-06-06 Dul Hranicna
First dive at Důl Hraničná in the Czech Republic.
An old iron ore mine in the Rychlebské hory, with mining history going back to the mid-19th century and production ending in 1968. Today it’s flooded, cold, quiet, and used for mine and cave diving.
The water is around 8°C all year, with good visibility, and the black magnetite running through white marble gives the place a very special look underwater.
First visit, and a really interesting one. A serious dive site, full of history and atmosphere.
